How Can severe Tightness And Pain In The Chest be Treated?

My wife is 44. Great health. Eats healthy and works out about 4 days a week. She s 5 3 120 and all health numbers(cholesterol, blood pressure, etc.. perfect). In the last few weeks just after going to sleep she s had tightness in her chest and pain radiating to her back. At first it was a burning feeling in her chest that milk seemed to help with, but now milk doesn t seem to help. It comes and goes thru the nite. Keeps her up and is really painful. Any ideas?

hi
thanks for using HCM.
the above symptom can occur in GERD and Angina. GERD is the return of the stomach's contents back up into the esophagus and causing burning sensation in chest and upper abdomen while Angina is cardiac problem. you need to get a physician opinion for her. For GERD you can try PPI drugs like pantoprazole/ rabeprazole etc.. with dietary modification such as to avoid spicy food, peppermint, fatty foods, coffee, and alcoholic beverages. hope it will help her.
thanks
